You know in the film Amelie where she dips her hands into a sack of pulses because she loves the way it feels? Well I like the feeling of textured leather. Where do I get my leather feel fix? I always wander into Doors by Jas MB (no pics on the website I’m afraid!) just to cop a feel of the wonderfully treated leather bags. Kinkyness aside, the bags really are great. Jas Shembi has been a very well established accessory designer in London for quite a few years now and his handcrafted leather bags are madly popular in Japan. The store in London sells gorgeous leather bags in all sizes including REALLY big ones which suits me fine because I happen to carry a shocking amount of stuff with me everyday. For some odd reason, I end up carrying very utilitarian-type bags everyday because I think a fussy bag somehow doesn’t work with my outfits.
They can even custom make your bag for you for only 10% more than the original price and you can choose your own styles, leather finishes and colours. If you’re thinking they’re just boring leather bags, you couldn’t be more wrong as they use different textured leathers like paper-wrinkled leather, leathers with metallic sheens or crackled rough leather in beautiful colours like pewter, dove, berry, deep mustard yellows and the perfect shade of cream. Interesting details like nifty pockets and conspicuous zips finish these bags off perfectly!

I love these bags! Simple, yet distinctive.
I just bought a black Jas MB bag (the Tie Medium in crackled leather)in Seoul, South Korea, and love it! I must say it cost much more that what I would have paid on the JAS MB website, but now that I know, I can order them online.
