Jump for Jumpsuits

You’re witnessing my fashion first.  I have bought my first jumpsuit.  Yes, those 70’s all-one- top and trouser things.  I have been tempted in the past by vintage slinky jersey jumpsuits for that Studio 54 look but there is no getting away from the fact that they’re not the world’s most flattering garment.  Rear ends enlarge, thighs mysteriously expand.  There have also been unfortunate incarnations of the jumpsuit since the disco days of the 70’s – Juicy Couture velour versions, denim monstosities a la J-Lo which naturally put me off.

However, I’m not sure whether it was the thump thump of the grime music that was playing in Topshop or the heady ‘Buy One Get One Free’ mid-season sale that did it but I came out with this Topshop Unique jumpsuit from the S/S06 collection yesterday.  It was £15 reduced from £70.  I have no idea when or where am I going to wear it but when I tried it on, it felt really great on.  It’s a definite fashion first for me.  A beginning of a love for one-pieces, rompers and the like?  Maybe….
