It’s my friend’s birthday party tonight and for some god-forsaken reason, she has gone with a BLACK and RED dress theme. Us girlies have to wear mainly black with red accessories – yes, it IS that specific. Now, when I was pondering this theme, I realised, my percentage of red clothing is very minimal let alone red accessories. More to the point, I actually really dislike the combination of just red and black. For me, it’s got connontations of halloween costumes or fetish clothing. At least, if I were to add some navy or some grey, it wouldn’t be so bad but GAH…. it’s just BLACK and RED! I came up with three outfits and they all look exactly the same. How lame is that! I still have no clue what I’m going to go with.
Black & Red disaster #1 – American Apparel red ribbed tank, vintage black tulip dress w/ lace bodice, Falke scarlet tights, vintage 40’s cream and scarlet patent shoes, vintage red rope and gold buckle belt, black beads
Black & Red disaster #2 – Traffic People red butterfly halterneck, vintage black babydoll slip dress w/ red satin ribbon, red tights, Topshop black and snakeskin patent wedge shoes, red beads,
Black & Red disaster #3 – Traffic People red butterfly halterneck, Topshop Boutique black jersey double layered racer back long top, red tights, vintage suede ruched black ballet pumps, red plastic geometric necklace

Outfit 3 definitely!
It’s ok!
i like 2. But what about your amazing new obi sash? Would that be too ‘daytime’?
I like disaster #2. :-)It’s cuter and seems more balanced.
I like #1…because it looks the least like Black/Red. I hate this color combo, too.
outfit 2 looks great !
yeah i agree i would say outfit number 2
definitely 2! good luck
If I had to pick one, I’d say #2.
I like the first one more though~ Pick the first one 😛 oh, think will look nicer with black shoes and tights from the 2nd pic =P
I’d go with outfit #2. Black and red does remind me of some Halloween-fetishy color combo. Eeek. Yeah, #2.
2# gets my vote 🙂
You guys known me too well….I DID have the intentions of going for outfit number two but (prepare for rambling ppl!) I went out wearing a casual outfit for the cinema and lunch and was supposed to carry outfit #2 with me….except it wasn’t in my bag. Doh! I left the dress at home! All I had was a red ribbon and a pair of red tights. So off to Topshop I went for a make-shift emergency black dress and did you know Topshop, you’ll know it’s nigh impossible to find a BLACK dress at this time of year when everyone’s proclaiming every colour under the sun (apart from black) to be the new black. I now have a black crochet dress which I didn’t even want. So there is the tale of my sorry affair of my red and black night. Dress aside, it was a brilliant night….
#2 of cz… everyone’s voting that too…
Number2 but take the black shoes from number3!
Number2 but take the black shoes from number3!
