My mother is not in the country at the moment but when she gets back, I’m going to ask her where the hell is this dress she is wearing in this picture (the white with the black tree branches graphic). It’s so 80’s yet with those sheer white stockings and pointy black oxfords, there’s something very 21st century-styled about it – like if I saw it in i-D, I wouldn’t blink.
I want to belt it up, I want to wear it as a loose sheath over grey leggings, I want to wear it on its own with some white booties – I want this dress!!

You’re right- this dress is way cool. I really like the print, although I wish I could see it up close…
Ooh, I’ve always loved the silhouette of trees…
I think it would be even nicer hemmed a bit shorter..
it looks like this marimekko print. i have always wanted a dress from this fabric. your mom must be AMAZING!

David: Thanks – it is a manical love for fashion and magazines – which is disturbing but I just can’t help it…
The Lone Beader: I wish I could see it up close too! I shall have to root around for my mother’s 80’s throwback clothes…
Claire: Yes, it would look great hemmed up….if I ever find it!
SOS: I love Marimekko’s fabrics! She does such great homeware stuff too. Thanks for the link – it really does look like my mother’s dress!
Great dress! I would love it belted and worn with white booties. Does she still have it?
