I’m having a bit of a love affair with silk necklaces at the moment. In fact I’m looking to create my own and I’ve been inspired by this trinket by Thakoon. It’s a black silk knot necklace that was seen on the S/S06 catwalk. Now at £225, the price is waaaay too steep for me. Seems a tad excessive for a string of knotted silk, even with the delicate jet tear-drop beads at the base of each knot. So this weekend, I’ll make it my mission to recreate my own version with some broken bead necklaces and an old black silk slip.

When you look at it from an aerial view, the knots remind me of the crow pattern seen on the A/W06 Rochas dresses which just makes it even more lovely to behold (and even more tempting to try and emulate!).

Oh, that Rochas dress…
I loved the chimney sweep theme of the last collection.
Wow, you’re right- I really do see the similarity. I loved Rochas’ collection of (almost smoke cloud-like) dresses and those really lifelike birds. I even put the birds on my layout- they’re just too cute.
Love that necklace…so simple yet genious 🙂 adorable…nor more, nor less
I love that necklace as well. Silk necklaces are gorgeous, especially the Thakoon one!
