Size does Matter

In stubborn denial. I always imagine that behind every online store, there’s a neverending supply of stock, with every size, colour and style at my disposal.   Naively, I assume that if it’s available online, there must be millions of them.  I do have to shake myself and say ‘No Susie, it is like any other store, they do run out of stuff.’
Takes these L’Autre Chose rose and chocolate stacked heel brogues.  A reasonable medium cone heel that means that they’re one of the only high heeled brogues that aren’t kinky fetish shoes.  A pretty pale pink colour that’s versatile and harks back to 1920’s style brogues.  Lovely hole punch detailing.   Originally priced at £159 but now reduced to £50, bargain alarm goes off in head.

Quel problemo?  Oh, only a size 40 or 41 left.   *Heart falls to ground*

Or this Vivienne Westwood skirt from Designers Sales UK (a permanent sample sale online – do check out the rest of it!).  Cute pockets that make the skirt more utilitarian than vampy.  Red satin that can take you through to fall when you can mix it up with grey and black.  Beautiful ruched elastic detailing at the back.  A ridiculously low price of £44 (was £225).

What’s this?  Size 12!?  "Nooooooooooooooooooo" I curse.

This place we call cyber space has claimed many a shopping disappointment from me.  My loss is your gain though if you match those sizes.

  1. SEVEN pairs of shoes in the viva la diva sale listed as being available in my size. I click to buy and get the ‘sorry, we don’t have this size in stock anymore’ note.

  2. those shoes are beautiful.
It’s funny, when I find a great bargain it’s usually in a tiny size I can’t fit into

  3. I just wanted to say, I love reading your blog! Keep up the great work!
