With an amazing looking Freja Beha on the cover of Numero magazine, how could I NOT buy this month’s Numéro magazine. The editorial which I loved the most was the one entitled Une Touriste à Paris, shot by Luciana Val and Franco Musso. There are definitely direct references to the cult fashion film Qui êtes-vous Polly Maggoo? which I reviewed a while back. The wide eyed girl peeking out from her heavy dark bangs, photographed around the fashion capital of Paris. The visually monochromatic, graphic composition. Darla Baker even looks a little like Dorothy McGowan! This makes me a) want to skip to Paris right away (I was supposed to go for the sales but rotten work kept me in London!) and b) re-watch the film, which I still rate highly as one of THE films about fashion to watch.

Both DVD’s have English subtitles as well as the Polly Maggo film also includes a 1998 documentary called In and Out of Fashion documenting William Klein’s life as a fashion photographer.
