…and Fashionista sheds some major light as to what is the dealio with the Comme Des Garcons x H&M collaboration with some lovely large-ish lookbook images. As with all things, I’m not going to be spewing any commentary until I’ve seen the stuff and this time, it may be sooner than the launch date as I might be doing something with the clothes work-wise. However, on first look, all I can say is the frock coat will be mine. The most complex of the pieces and supposedly the ‘sell-out/eBay star’ of the collection (*fret fret*), it is a cut above the rest of the stuff which I won’t judge until I have seen it to be sure. It’s just that the idea of a frock coat, a piece that you can wear as a dress, or tart up something really plain and rubbish underneath just makes the idea of buying a coat even more appealing seeing as it can be a bit of a *yawn* task.
You go away for one weekend…
I really like it! It’s very quirky & different. Something that would make people look at you. When I’m not broke I might even get one…=D
Loving the frock coat. The mens is quite enticing too, however, am not too keen on the abundance of polka dots.
/Cillian.
that’s a statement coat if there ever was one. you should definitely post pics when you get it!
oooo susie, you got a shout out from Daphne Guiness in the Financial Times article from this weekend.

oops you already caught it!
I love the collection of shorts they have too..its the only H&M designer collab that I love so far!
I’ve seen a couple of pieces from this new collab and I’m really surprised at how odd some of them are. I’m not so keen on the waistcoat, its a little Tim Burton, but in the other looks they used tons of asymmetry and borderline gaudy flair, though, which works. Its just surprising to see a design house getting weirder for the mass market. Has anyone seen any info as to when these will hit stores and if it will even make it to the US?
I HAVE to have that coat!!!! I’m already planning to take the morning off of work so I can stand outside my local H&M to get it. Thanks Susie!
I thought the collection was a little bit disappointing. I understand that someone like Kawakubo has to be watered down in order to appeal to a mass market, but then it seems to become something else. It’s not really Commes Des Garcons for H&M…it’s more like H&M for Commes Des Garcons maybe.
there’s more about it & pictures in the H&M magazine that’s free instore
loving the menswear, but not too shore about the polka dots , i hope my store will get some of commes stuff as i work in h&m but we still got ages to wait the collection comes out in novemer arggg
It does look stupendous – I’m a tad cynical about the material they’ll use but it does look like a must have!

The frock coat is lovely.
i think this sounds pretty good.. but lets see till everything is in store! you never know! xo
Can’t wait to see the collection!
That coat/dress is spectacular! I spell a sell out on that one! Good to have you back!
Can’t wait to hear what the clothes are like in real life…and I fully agree with you, that frock coat (it looked like a dress in the images I saw) is fairly spectacular!
we are all waiting for it! the frock coat is definetely a must-have
Oh my, the frock coat is superb. But dammit, all the other look book images have been taken down over at Fashionista, at H&M’s request.
where can i get those clothes?
only london town?
Yay! I’m the only person in the entire world who doesn’t want that coat! This is a huge relief for me, praise the lord!
My inner gothic Victorian wants it! Now I’ll just have to make the trip to Chicago. I hope they still have it when I can get there.
