The Finishing Touch to the Ode

So the first peek of colette x Gap products aren’t exactly blowing me away but they are all useful niceties that one would get a lot of practical wear out of and I have a feeling all is not yet revealed… anyhow, how could I NOT have posted this bow clutch contribution from Alexis Mabille in none other than my dear grey jersey.  Oh how times have changed since me and grey jersey had that first encounter.  Grey jersey has now been elevated and everyone wants a piece of the jersey action now… still, that’s ok and seeing as it’s looking unlikely that I’m going to New York for fashion week afterall (too much to do in Laaaandon) and won’t be catching the colette x Gap pop up store that opens on 6th September, I’ll head to Paris to the newly refurbished colette store and pick up this grey jersey finishing touch (such is the nature of a bow…).

  1. ohhhhh i want it so much! i’m imagining outfits that would go with it, and that’s just about…. everything. it hurts!

  2. Omigosh, I love it so much I’m reduced to typing Omigosh! Susie, when I first started reading your blog, I was so happy to have found someone who shared my love of gray jersey!

  3. Yess I saw that clutch and Bendel’s and it was like a dream come true.
love your blog! but i honestly think everyone does. =]

  4. hello susie, i saw a grey jersey hooded trench coat today in the islington beneton and thought of you!

  5. this is so cute, do you know how us brits can get our hands on these wares? (apart from going to paris that is!) do they have an online shop. thanks for the jersey update, there’s nothing I love more than melange grey jersey!

  6. to clear up the previous statement i saw a sequined one and obviously its not the same thing lol
i just realized how stupid that comment sounded

  7. that’s a great gap collaboration item – slightly casual basic with twist. i’m kind of interested in the puffy jacket too.

  8. I love unexpected uses of fabrics, and blended jersey knit is right up there — this adorable use especially.

  9. that’s wayyy to cute! i’ve seen satin and silk bow clutches, and they all look wayyy to hoity toity. this is a nice one (:

  10. Why can’t they bring a similar pop-up store to London?
    We’re like some unloved step-child…
I’ll have to dig up the clutch and the trench on ebay I guess.

  11. I hope this is going to pick things up for the Gap..(sighs) I just feel so bad for the company every time I walk into a store. Their clothes are bland and boring and poor quality! Here’s hoping…

  12. Overall, I didn’t like the Colette x Gap collection. I don’t know, there is something un-special about it. Walking into their store in Paris has a very singular feel to it, and the fact that there is only one is what makes it good. However, I feel like this mass-commercialization waters down their aesthetic…I was pretty disappointed. However, I do love Alexis Mabille quite a bit and do have a fondness for grey. I wrote a little blurb about him about a year ago, when I first started my blog: http://raraavisarewe.blogspot.com/2007/10/isnt-it-dandy.html

  13. i was really drawn to this clutch as well when looking through the images for this collab. seems to be about the only thing i would pick up if i could get my hands on it
