Graey is now onto episode 12 and she’s had a few ups and downs so i thought I should check in on her…. Now more so than ever, I’m being quite choosy about what to buy etc and when you come across lines that are elevate basics, you feel like you might have heard it all before. However, I’ve followed Janet Kim’s collection Graey NY right from the beginning and when I received my new bit of Graey, I knew I had to follow it up. The lace cut-out leggings which I was lusting after are even more pretty in person and wearing them today, I can’t stop touching the lace bits that add this attractive texture and as I said before look like they are snaking up the legs like growing ivy or something. The exposed skin is also weirdly alluring but I also like the idea of adding a pair of lace tights underneath to add a different sort of texture which I have done below. For AW08-9, Janet has developed a design that incorporates sheer and opaque jersey panels… a clever take on what high end designers do with mesh and silk etc and has a really subtle yet effective look when worn. I may not be able to afford the ¬£100,000 haute couture deets but at least somebody is taking note and producing them on a more casual level.
hmm i much prefer the navy version that you have rather than the black&white version that she’s selling online. the subtle peekaboo effect is simply divine (and it looks even better the way you layered it) but i could never justify spending that amount of money on a pair of tights.
Now I’m lusting for those leggings, they’re gorgeous!

I just checked out her site, and have to say Tanya’s right, the black/white version isn’t nearly as nice as yours.

Anon: Ah see that’s what I thought when I first saw the pic but then I looked at the top and it was double stiched so it’s not exactly sheer…. no need for bras underneath if you so wish (I go braless most of the time because of lack of boobs alas…)

It’s a very clever peek-a-boo execution. Little bits showing is far more interesting than exposing vast expanses.
