I’m from the old fashioned school of ‘Tried and Tested=Stamp of Approval’, meaning if I own and wear something from a certain designer/shop, then I’m likely to buy again. Funny that isn’t it?
Anyhow, my Tristan Blair wedges have gotten some proper wear (they traipsed at least five miles all over Paris doing resees appointments…) and so instantly I’m seeing highly wearable opportunities in the new AW09 collection here (meaning our SS09 with Blair being Aussie and all…) which will hit Joy Electric/Hysteric in March-April 2009. It’s a collection that teeters and tip toes around the lines of sexy, tacky and practical…. a combination that says to me that they’ll get heavy duty wear unlike more extreme designers who I admire aesthetics but dare not wear often for fear of ankle breakage. There are certain things that also jump out at me. The marabou around the ankles – what’s that all about and why the heck is it working for me? The combination of grey and coral pink – need to replicate this in attire to match the wonderful shoes. The wedge boots – since passing up the Pierre Hardy versions a few seasons ago could these be the new options to consider? Good thing I have until April to ponder these important issues.

That grey and coral pink is a surprisingly amazing combination. I’m a long term grey obsessive, but lately I’ve been combining it more adventurously – all the shows over the fashion weeks inspired me to put grey and orange together. So delicious! I think these shoes may well mean that coral pink is the next to be paired up with my old school favourite.
I love that gray/black/pink combo!
the shoots are so cool!
I’ve just checked out the new collection and I am so in love, desperately in love: so many incredible pieces! It’s funny because I spotted your wedges in several pictures and went a little green with jealousy, but you wear them really well! Now, all I have to do is find a list of London stockists …
MM, it’s like chocolate :*
I really do like the colour combos, and like you said they are interestingly shaped, but not impractical.
Some wonderful inspiration!
Omigosh I’m completely in love with everything in those photos, I’m going to go to the store and buy everything they have!
Wow, great shoes! I must be ‘out of the loop’, Tristan Blair’s Aussie? And I haven’t seen these before, must keep up! 🙂
The cut-out oxfords are really working for me. I love pink/coral/grey. Very nice together.
All of those shoes are amazing.
Well well.. I didn’t even know that he was an Aussie designer. We have a store just nearby. Funny I find these things out reading your blog..
Love love love this range… Tristan is a genuis!
http://www.thejoystores.com will be stocking a selection of the range on-line and we ship overseas 🙂
I want the first, third and fourth pair so bad.
Those grey and pinks are really working, not so keen on the black/pink flats though.. The grey/pink shoes would work with so many things too.. Very versatile
The marabou ankle trim is very cute but what would you wear it with?
I really like the ones in #4 too, all too high for me though!
i dont know why, but it really irks me when designers put models in that pose where their legs are dangling in the air.
Fab and beautifully sturdy shoes!
I want all of these…especially the black patent with the pink buckle.
I’m feeling the flats.. And loving the shoes on the last two pics!

Looks like Tristan’s regained his groove and the diabolical mess that was his SS08 range…this pleases the Despotic Queen!
