When Guy from Fashion156 asked if it was ok to let them use the fashion shoot I modelled in for them as part of something they were doing for Dermalogica of course I said go ahead…. they shot the images afterall and I wasn’t really clear on the details.
Then when Guy sent me the images yesterday, the results of what they had done with the images, I had to guffaw a bit. I’m currently in the centre of a large Fashion156 wall collage at the Dermalogica store in Kensington behind the skin bar. Prospective people getting their skin mapping done might find themselves staring at my petrified-esque expression wondering what is the connection between me in Simone Shailles’ knitwear and skincare. I’m more impressed by the composition of the collage by Fashion156-er Emily Rand. My friends and I chortled at the irony of me, scared of beauty products in general and has never paid for a facial in her life (BA business class freebie facial gave me hives…), being on the wall of Dermalogica so we shall be popping down to the Kensington store on Saturday to chuckle a bit more and for their experts to tell me that my skin is in a terrible state that is beyond repair.

I reckon your skin is pretty well perfect. Mind you no matter how gorgeous your skin is they will push their product no matter what… 🙂
ehehe… well that’s all goes with being a celebrity, as i’m sure (insert celebrity here) doesn’t use pantene pro v.
I’m so sorry that took advantage of you. They should have paid you for that. I work as a model and for sure you got ripped of. I hope at least they gave you some products to enjoy. A lot of companies know people think it’s fun to be on posters etc. so they take advantage of that. Dermalogica should be embarresed.
That’s pretty amazing. Congratulations!
hee hee, it’s so funny they used a pic of you where you’re kind of hiding…”no, please don’t give me a facial, anything but that!”
Well, your skin always looks lovely so I’m sure you’re a great advert for them. And the wall looks great!
P.S. Thanks so much for linking me. It’s much appreciated. 🙂 x
Lily: Hey no…they didn’t rip me off….I’m not a model! I’m not advertising their products…it was part of a collage that Fashion156.com put together for Dermalogica…. I’m not being exploited…. !
Angie: You read my thoughts…
The collage looks great. Congratulations!
Fabulous!
How cool! This looks great. bet it is funny seeing you on a store wall!
I hear that’s a really good line. Facial or not, if you end up using any of their products, I’m sure you’ll be happy with them.
I really love the graphic composition. Congrats!
guy here at fashion156 . We are trying to get word out about our zine and Dermalogica offered us free ad space in their store for a whole month and allowed us to brand it with our logo and design it. they paid all costs.
susie is – i will admit – kind of one of my favourite people in the whole world and i ADORE this image of her, plus she is a big part of fashion156 having written for us since we launched! She helped me out so much by agreeing to let me use her pic!
I think it is fun and great that Dermalogica would support a hardly know project such as fashion156. 156 is all about new talent and new names and that is what susie is to me, a HOT name for the fashion industry to watch, as is Simone Shailes, the designer susie is wearing in the picture!
thanks for everything susie
xxx
Whoops- you are huge! you didn’t look that big on my laptop screen-sorry haha!x
Urgh, I really need sknicare. One of the curses of being a teen. On a happier note, you look great in the ads!
HAHA funny!!!
kinda funny that they used you but having you covered your face, thats telling you something??
also you don’t need expert to tell you that you got bad skin….come on….look at the
mirror, quick.
i will print this out and show it to my class at st M!
Facials are great, and dermalogica is actually a good and neutral product. Try it….
Cool collage, I like what you are wearing. 🙂
WTF, your skin is beautiful!
how surreal, yet so cool!
Hey! You’re a fixture now. I really love the collage.
how great is this? You look so cute!
