We’re finally in the thick of winter and it’s finally ok to shiver and embrace the cold. In general I’m not one to feel the cold and tend to do worse in extreme heat. However, there are three things that are currently warming the bod other than expensive central heating that don’t make me look like I’ve wrapped up particularly well… a clever illusion of heat protection if you will…
Uniqlo Heat Tech – I know I keep banging on about bloody Uniqlo but both the boyf and I have only recently roadtested the HeatTech range and with both of us sticking our cynical noses in the air at so-called ‘scientific facts’ (the fabric absorbs body moisture to create heat…), we were surprised and freaked out that they actually friggin’ work. I’ve been jaunting around, standing at bus stops for long lengths of time in nothing but a longsleeve Heat Tech tee and actually physically feeling the heat on my back, whilst onlookers in puffa jackets are wondering whether I’m insane or a deranged Eskimo. I have one in nude and grey…I’ll be back for more…
The Steve J & Yoni P jacket – Plastic Choko captured me around my office on a day that the snap had arrived in London. The entire design feature on the jacket also doubles up as insulation. I’m not sure whether Steve J and Yoni P researched roof insulation but the arm is immediately warm to touch after wearing the jacket for a day…
Impending Warmth – The last one is a bit daggy and is literally invisible to the naked eye but it’s the thought of a package arriving from Atlanta as I’ve ordered a bunch of stuff from Yokoo to prep for the cold… the cheeks go pink and the cockles of my heart go warm and fuzzy at the thought of receiving the package and ripping it open… yes, I do believe cockles in the heart exist!
