Apologies to…

…those adverse to colours and prints because I’ve made a conscious resolution for 2009 to usher in the new year with a bright palette and patterns as a spiritual pick me up.  I’m not going to blah on about it but the latter half of this year has been a challenge… mental spirits have been low to say the least.  I’m so eager for 2008 to end that this post is coming a little bit too early really.  The last day at work today before the office closes up left me with a sigh of relief and I hurried home with this resolution in mind.  I think the emotional effect of clothing has been expounded upon many times on the blog so I won’t repeat myself but I can’t stress enough how a certain set of colours or a specific combination can really lift you… and that isn’t bullcrap spewed from a motivational speaker by the way… I can only say it works for me.  Perhaps others don’t weep in happiness over a perfect bit of cashmere or silk dress, in which case this whole paragraph will be lost on them.

Anyhow… colour/pattern therapy will be in full swing starting from now…

Avert your eyes if it’s all a bit too much… this is a variation of what I wore out to the party in Paris avec Beth Ditto in front of fishtank…

Actually I have the Basso & Brooke boys to thank for fast tracking my early resolution enactment.  I was completely floored to find a Crimbo package sent from them containing these S/S 09 print leggings knowing I have a penchant for printed leggings… I don’t even have to put them on for them to lift my spirits.  It was a totally unexpected package (unlike the EXPECTED one which was meant to be a pressie for the boyf and unfortunately never made it despite being sent via Parcel24…grrr) and I’m beaming like a silly child…
