The Coral of a Scallop…

With coral pink on my nails, it's gotten coral on the mind… even down to the coral of scallops (an ingredient that Masterchef contestants seem to be very fond of and monumentally eff up most of the time…).  The coral in my wardrobe has come pouncing out from the back of my wardrobe and I think it's even inspring a refreshed interest in make-up with this Barry M coral orange lipstick… I suppose there had to be one season where I finally started getting into that tiresome thing of make-up even though I'm loathe to slap it on most days of the week…

The clips finally made it onto my head albeit in a way that looks like they have crash landed as a random installation as opposed to carefully clipped in… this coral dress from the COS sale gets the prize for most prim thing in my wardrobe at the mo…

Then I stuck them down in a V near um, that area… I don't know why.  This very old Topshop Unique dress was pulling me in to do so…

Hmm…. more work me thinks and as long as the nails are painted so, I'll keep shoving the clips somewhere/anywhere..

  1. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I LOVE CORAL! And you, being Susie, make it even more wonderful. πŸ™‚ I really like that last outfit – I think they look more like a pointy belt than anything particularly, um, personal.

  2. Haha, I actually like how it looks like you may have a magnet on your head…and those clips have somehow attatched themselves. They are so much fun! The coral is really pretty and I really like the black jacket with that dress!

  3. coral here there and everywhere! The clips put together randomly makes it seem like a headpiece.. very cool.
    xx-LJ from SOS!

  4. Those clips are BRILLIANT, using them on your outfit made me gasp. I’m absolutley envious of your Sam Edelman shoes! Love you Susie.

  5. Angry bear claw!
Sorry that’s the first thing that came into my head after seeing pic 2.

  6. ohh i saw those clips in production at my friend’s dad’s factory that makes stuff for h&m. they’re so adorable.
i love that topshop dress. the clips really work

  7. The clips work really well on the dress. I like how they look in your hair too–I like how you composed them, it does remind me of an art installation.

  8. Love the clips both on the dress & on your hair, they’re truly amazing! I agree with the clothes horse they also remind me of an art installation.

  9. That dress is amazing and your nails look great. If you have a chance check out my Tokyo Harajuku street fashion pics for some inspiration!!

  10. love the coral madness. The hair clips is a new interesting accessory to add to the wardrobe, you are rocking it…

  11. Just bought a pair of tights you recommended….Celeste Stein from My Tights? At least I think it was you, lol.
Love the blog btw – you take some risks that really work!

  12. I usually love the way you dress, but seeing just one item of clothing on you is rather striking. Very refreshing, from someone who is incapable of layering.

  13. Ugh, love what you did on your head with the clips! Just great…
If only I had the fashion guts to wear my damn fascinators to school. I think my undergrads would be too distracted. And I’m too chicken!

  14. Woah yes the coral overload is fab! The Cos dress was on my wishlist in my head but bloody books come first. I’ve only just started to wear make up although I’ve always done a bit of lippy and/or nail varnish – I need the help now you don’t!!

  15. I like that COS dress, I didn’t spot it in my store or it would’ve been mine too πŸ™
I did like you better in the red lipstick though.

  16. you are adorable! and i love those clips. back in the 90’s i used to have millions of them, and would wear millions of them in my hair. i didn’t look a chic as you though.

  17. that’s gorgeous!! i found big clips in h&m today, but i think they’re not such as big…
love the game of proportions, fun and cute!!

  18. Tanya: Pose guess – 100% correct!
    Phamtastic: They’re from H&M!
Wanderlusting: Which pair did you buy..
Lady C: I loved using the tiny ones all over my hair too!
Diane: These were from H&M too so they should have them!

  19. You haven’t failed by expectations! Sort of monochromatic, no? It’s funny how that word brings to mind connotations of black, white, grey when this is just the wonderful opposite! x

  20. The hair-clips as head-piece thing is inspired. Love. It. There’s a fine line between coral and salmon (and you know how I feel about salmon) but I kinda dig this colour.

  21. I love coral! It’s the only pink I can handle. I keep looking for a good lip gloss/stick; any suggestions?

  22. Love the clips.
I like the coral orange lipstick too. I must be on a lipstick kick; it’s not something I usually think about.

  23. Love what you’ve done with the clips, especially in your hair! And I’m kicking myself for not getting that dress in the COS sale now. It looks so well made and delicious!
