Cutest Pics EVA…

I'll start by saying straight off, this isn't what it looks like.  You know when MySpace designers get people to send in pics of themselves wearing their underground cult hit tee, THIS isn't one of those instances.  In fact, just ignore my Diamond Borders and Frontier tee that the lovely lady is wearing.  Rather, the point is that when I sent out a thank you email to those that bought the tee, I shamefully did not expect to receive these awesomely cute pictures of a lovely lady called Shontelle Schmidt who is 36, wife of a USAF fighter pilot stationed in Idaho with three kids (two of them are here…Elise and Briella…).  Thus the prize for cutest photos on Style Bubble go to… *drum roll* Shontelle and her smiley brood.  If I smiled like that as a kid, I probably wouldn't get so much hassle at school for awkward and quiet.

Call me shortsighted (actually I am… approaching -9.5 to be exact… I'm reaching blind zenith) but when I have to dole out information about readers to those that want to know (i.e. big corporate companies who get off on tick boxes and pie charts…), I always say the majority age group is 18-25… which it probably still is.

But, that's not to say I'm completely ignorant of the fact that I have readers beyond that age group (and under too…) though it does take an email or two to realise what EXACTLY is my readership like.  I'm not very good at the whole 'cater-for-all' type posting strategy but hopefully my older and wiser readers aren't coming here and rolling their eyes at the 'orrid youf of today and stroking their wise imaginary beards and saying "Gah…these fashion bloggers…. what do they know?"

  1. I’m jealous of her earlobes! They look perfect for large gauge stretching…and err..cute kids aswell!

  2. I donยฌยฅt think your blog has an age group, I love that it is funny and inspirational. Either one likes it or not, no matter the age. Thats what I think, anyways. In your case however, it seems most people likes it ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. This is so endearing..I don’t know its strange and amazing how diversified your readership is. Although you mention that you might be so great at the “please everyone” mentality (something that is extremely difficult to do) but its clear that is one of your talents. You know how to make everyone feel good about loving fashion and it shows through your writing. If anyone deserves to be well liked by everyone its you! I don’t know how you do it because clearly it is not my strong suit.

  4. I’m an old person who reads you, too. 32, to be precise!! I’ve got a bunch of kids (ok, 3) and live in the mountains. So, yeah- further proving your point!

  5. What a lovely post!
And seriously, she could pass for 10 years younger.. Gorgeous kids too. I would buy your tee Susie if I wasn’t so skint!

  6. I’m 31!! I don’t find your blog too young at all and I’ve been reading since (almost) the start!

  7. Are you really minus 9.5? Cos I’m minus 7, and I never meet anyone blinder than me. In fact, I shock people with my blindness. Please don’t be joking. Such cute kids, it’s great your tee made it so far.

  8. ah these are so lovely! you are major short-sighted! have you thought about lasik? i had it a few years ago, best thing ever!

  9. Kb: I am really THAT blind…I’ve been shortsighted since I was very very young….
PinkBow: I’m a bit wary of Lasik… my friend had it done and had to go back and do it again because it wore off… I’m also in no financial position to have it done either!

  10. I love everything about this. Who would guess that this adorable woman would be one of your biggest fans? Probably not too many, but I think it’s safe to say that your readership includes tons of people that you wouldn’t guess. Susie Bubble has universal appeal! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. Absolutely yes, they ARE happy fun and gorgeous, but then you should her 49 yr old AUNTIE!
    signed, her Auntie

  12. Susie, I’ve neglected you over the past few weeks, but this is such an excellent post to come back to!
Seriously, 36?! And cutest freaking kids!
    xxx

  13. Hi there Susie, one of your readers commented she was an “old person” at 32 ~ OMG that makes me ancient .. I am a mother of a 29 and 25 year old and am 58 (quel horreur!!) I live in Australia and I love reading your blog…..

  14. Brilliant and such a fab back story. Of course you’ve got a dedicated fan base of oldies, moi included! We’re no older in our heads!!

  15. It would be interesting to do a poll and see what your average readership age is. I reckon it’s older than you think it it. I’m 40.

  16. SO SO CUTE! she doesn’t look 36!
I WAS under the 18-25 group when I started to read your blog.

  17. Age: 29. Status: Full-time PhD student at Oxford. Though not in the expected age group, I have been an avid reader of your fantastic blog for years. ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. I love your blog, your style and i’ll say you, as I’m sure I would if I personally knew you:-)and I’m 39 soon to be 40.

  19. Oh my – just adorable! And by the way, I’m an avid reader of your blog which I find superbly well written, well edited and enjoyable and am 44y/o. You are quite a talented young lady – keep up the great work!

  20. When I *started* reading Style Bubble, I was probably closer to the 18-25 demo but I’m steadily getting farther away from that !
She is adorable as are her kids. Love these pics.

  21. Susie, I really enjoy reading your blog and I’m 44. I suspect your readership is all over the place, your photos are wonderful, your writing is clever and enjoyable, and your fashion is an inspiration.

  22. Susie, I’ve been a reader for a long time, I’m 34 and mother of 3 gorgeous and stylish girls. I think, from the sea of fashion bloggers out there, you are the one with true style (both writing and fashion wise) and that’s why your older readers enjoy reading your blog so much: we’ve seen a lot and we get bored easily ๐Ÿ™‚
PS. I know this is a really old post, but I somehow ended up here after searching for another post ๐Ÿ™‚
