>> It's all a bit impressionistic and wishy washy today as I attempt to wade through town during a tube strike, a booked-out day of Addison Lee and buses rammed like jars of anchovies (I think anchovies are packed tighter than sardines…). It's gonna get a bit ugly out there but at least I'm leaving with some pretty and illustrated bits and bobs in my head…
Apologies for the post overlap but as I didn't speak about specifics in my last Lanvin x H&M post, I failed to mention that the packaging and tagging for the pieces are rather considered exemplified by these illustrated carrier bags that I feel may sit in the Museum of Brands (gonna try and make a visit sometime soon…) in 100 years time…
Emma Cowlam, a Chelsea Art School textile design graduate has built up a fairly sizeable portfolio of stitched and hand-drawn illustrations done from observation in her daily life. I love a good stitch-and-draw but best of all, Cowlam's stitched figures all seem to look ambiguously stylish. If they are observed from real life, I wonder where all these creatures with cool stances and perfectly dishevlled outfits are hanging out…
Finally, Vic Riches needs no introduction seeing as she's turned up a few times on the blog already and also around my manor during the yard sale. She's been busy scribbling away drawing up pics seen in my Yang Du S/S 11 post as well as one of my random Paris fashion week outfit posts… I'm thinking if all of my posts were accompanied by illustrations, how much prettier everything would look. Oh well, just live with the shonky DLSR-handling and long-winded text yeah?
I can’t wait for Lanvin collection for h&m !!
amazin post!
kiss
The stitched illustrations are awesome, I love how they still look really sketchy – at first glance I thought they were pencil or ink. The Yang Du watercolors are quite nice too, I needed a reminder to check out Vic Riches blog!
i need one of those bags in my life! i fell in love with the ‘i want lanvin not flowers’ tshirt.. but could not afford it at all.. so the bag may be slightly more in my reach 😉
definitely THE best h&m collection by far. i swear no-one else has gone quite to this much effort. so much love for Lanvin right now.
PERFECTION!

The best part of the H&M collection is the shopping bag!!! 😉

Such beautiful designs, I really adore this collection!
I just saw the price list though and it’s slightly out of my price range I know it’s Lavin and all but I think it’s kinda overpriced for H&M… just my opinion!
That being said I hope there is at least one dress left so i can snag it when it goes on sale!
love love love love these skizzes. THANKS.
So cool, I’ve never thought about stitching to illustrate. Although right now I’m trying to illustrate properly without scrunching it up straight away. x
That’s so cool! XD I’m just starting my own fashion blog, do you think that you could check it out?
Love the bags!
