>> The novelty of pressing feet into spongey snow that makes that 'creak' noise, only compacted flakes produces, is quickly wearing off seeing as it's now properly melting, disintegrating into grey slush puppy sludge. Rotating between various Dr Martens boots has been the constant in this snow-to-ice-to-sludge-to-puddles ground invasion because they have a thick enough sole to walk around a few inches, aren't porous enough to allow water to seep in and grip to the ice sufficiently (Did I laugh out loud at the woman who toppled on her spindly heels last week in Angel? Sorry if I did, but that was a moment of newfound ridiculous-ness…).
The new S/S 11 styles hopefully won't be seeing any more snow sludge activity by the time they drop into stores next year because the shiny croc pattern, the pastel tones and the woven floral patterns deserve to be skipping around in amongst blades of green grass, fields of heather and white sand – three fantasy natural surroundings that I've almost been obsessed with since my trip up to the Outer Hebrides (summer cottage rental on the Isle of Lewis is on the agenda for next year). The emphasis for S/S 11 is not on the 1460 8-eye boot but on the 1461 lace-up shoe which takes on a brogue-ish air, whilst retaining the thick sole that will still mean these are shoes fit for taking on whatever sludge the skies fling at us. Still, my feet are firmly set on lightly skipping about fields of green and purple rather than trudging their way through wet patches making squelchy noises and there are more than a few styles here that will satisfy the pending spring in my step…
Leopard print DM’s 😐 I couldn’t possibly want them more!!
Hope you have a lovely christmas, Susie!

These shoes are cute!
Love the pastel, & floral shoes <3333
The powder blue shoes are so lovely!
amazin!
Love the loafers and the florals!
RE the slush: This is what it’s like in Mtl from Dec-March…often also with giant drifts of snow. I’m in shoe hell, and already dreaming of spring. It’s a sad state of affairs, to rotate through the same boring 3 or 4 pairs of boots. All the while watching them get destroyed by slush, snow and salt.
Sorry, enough self pity!
These shoes&leg wears are amazing!!
I love Dr.Martens‚ô•
love 3rd pic of blue flower shoes in particular!

Love the leopard shoes!

does anyone else like the tights and pant colours even more than the docs?
LOVE!
available worldwide?
I love my Doc Maartens but all of my 1461’s are so painful to break in! It is the counter part that make it the worst as it’s so hard. It’s alright in the boots, I’ve never had problems breaking them in. but on all my 1461’s its been THE worst!
OOOH I can’t wait for summer 2011. I will definately be getting some pastel pink tights!!! I would love if you would visit me doll- im a follower! 🙂

I prefer the 1461 shoes to the 1460 boots – I’m hoping to buy a pewter pair in the not so distant future but I really like the snakeskin ones too. Which do you have your eyes on? (I can picture all of these on you!)
what a cute photography to show off cool shoes!!
Cheers! -Julie

Cheers! to the slushy snow. We’ve got that here, too – its absolutely gorgeous the day it falls, but the second the thermometer hits the upper thirties it all becomes disgusting slush. Of course, it’ll freeze overnight and become precariously slipper black ice. Perhaps I should think about investing in a pair of Doc Martens… my canvas shoes are not working out too well…
think my brain just went ‘POP’ here!soooo many pairs i want, i cant actually pick my favourite!i think i would have to have the loafers, burgundy pair and leopard pair.
the loafer styles are actually really nice, I really enjoy everthing they are doing over at Doc Martens!
The shoes styles are really cute specially the leopard print , so adorable.
I have a total obsession with docs! They pastal babies looks like those french pastries! They are delicious!!! WE defn’ got snow and slush here in Toronto..ugh!!!!!!

I’m not a big fan of Dr. Marten’s (sorry) and I might have been the lady in heels that you laughed at when she toppled (not really) but the robin’s egg blue is rather pretty.
Ok I am sold. One of these will most definitely be making their way into my wardrobe come spring. <3

pastel docs are ESSENTIAL.
Those pastel fringe-n-tassel loafs are k-k-k-killin’ it!
oh i envy you! i had to get a pair of real snow boots for the snow, my feet get too cold in regular shoes…which is strange because when it’s just cold and no snow, my feet can handle it, but as soon as snow is introduced i need real snow boots.
that and the fear of slipping on the ice.
Merry Christmas! Thank you to tell us more interesting information. So nice sharing.I’m great to read it .
mint-color shoes in second photo are fabulous!
i’m in love with the loafers. In your pics here, there are two types with different soles. But on the Dr Martens website they have only the Adrian. Any information on the tassel loafer with the smooth sole? Which one is it?
Mridula: The shoes are not available until S/S 11 drops which isn’t until Jan-March time…
Holy Moly! More Docs for me it seems! Great post!
How will 2011 be different for you than 2010? I would love to hear your dreams!
It was already different, now we do hope the next years will be more productive and best is yet to come.
