Cooooooooool… a cardboard cut-out set.  This is the Playdays fantasy that I'm re-enacting here.  Except instead of Noddy-esque primary colours, it's a flood of black and pink.

I have a giant remote control to play around with.  The buttons don't do anything but imagining what they might do – i.e. zap me into space – is still a fun activity.

I'm spinning on a rotating wheel.  I should be filming my makebelieve perfume ad right now.  Eau de Bub-ble (as in Michael Buble… DRAT over the misfortunate coincidence that my nick name shares with that awful singer…).

I could never been a weather woman… voice not perky enough. 

If I jump into the puddle through the picture frame, will a Mary Poppins scenario happen?

Hah.  Glad I spared you all of the above then.  Would have been deadly annoying if they were popping up as mini-posts.  Thank god for lack of network connectivity in basements eh?  On a more official note, all of the above related to a multi-part video series that I filmed for the Swedish brand Monki with the first episode going live on the 13th January.  I'm not a huge fan of me on camera mainly because of voice issues and the fact that there's no telling how it can turn out.  However the trailer below mainly got me excited because of all the post-production gizmo additions…  which amazingly made everything look even more fun than the reality/surreality of the actual experience of being on that make-believe set.  Never thought I'd say "Stay tuned…!" but err… well, there you go… "Stay TUNED!"  "What's the sign of the lollipop?" "It's the Monki stop!"

  13. You have a lovely voice! You want ‘bad’ voice try mine- it has been described as ‘the nasty bits out of a squeaky posh girl, mixed with Janet Street Porter and the Slaters’ (of Eastenders). As a result I now have a phone voice, which sounds like Mary Poppins and is equally silly. Bleaugh.

  19. I hadn’t heard of Monki before but after seeing this video I had to check out the website and I have fallen in love with a pair of burgundy shoes with a chunky heal and a giant velvet bow on the front.
    Anyway just wanted to let you know that your distinctively English accent sparkles on film, but everyone hates hearing themselves recorded I guess.

  23. i haven’t yet commented on any of your posts, although i have been loyally following for a long time now… but i simply had to tell you that i absolutely adore your voice! <3 i really think you ought to include more video clips of you out and about (especially as you're often so apologetic about picture-overload!).

    It’ll be nice to get a 3D look at their new collection, rather than having to rely on the website images!
