>> I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to dedicate an outfit post to the exacting shade of blood orange gelato (a flavour that Morelli's in Broadstairs excels at). I'm not even sure why I haven't entitled a post with 'Peachy Keen' a bygone phrase that's so buoyant with sickly positivity (I had to do a thorough search that I hadn't been through a peachy phase beforehand). Then again, I don't think I had ever scored a head-to-toe peachy outfit in one go for a bargainous sum of money and it's all thanks to Beacon Closet's yellow tag sale. The only thing that slightly wrecks this tale is the tags not being peach coloured themselves – that really would have been cloyingly convenient.
I try to scour Beacon's Closet only when I have time. I need to be in one of those meticulous 'combing-through-every-rack' mode to really get any good out of it. On my short trip to New York a few weeks ago, I spent a whole morning doing just that. First up an $8 jacket that is phony in so many ways with its faux four pockets and scratchy polyester material but then it redeems itself with a smattering of pointilist peach spray shading. Then Marc Jacobs mid-length pastel tweed skirt that is covered with a fine transparent silk comes calling at the 50% off price of $20. Combine the two with the house print that I picked up in nearby About Glamour and you have yourself a botched up ode to the far lovelier monotone/texture peach delight outfit as worn by Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady when she is chiding Freddy for being all talk and no action.
(Vintage jacket and Marc Jacobs skirt from Beacon's Closet, vintage shirt from About Glamour, Lacoste leather visor, Nicholas Kirkwood x Rodarte shoes)
Incidentally, I've just come across the oddest portrayal of the A/W 10 Kirkwood x Rodarte shoes in this shot featuring Hannelore Knuts as a four legged Kirkwood-limb creature, photographed by Danko Steiner and styled by Ana Steiner in the second issue of Industrie as part of the 'This is Your Life' feature on Rodarte.
great post!!!!!

Orange is currently my colour obsession, so obviously I <3 this outfit. The dotty shading details in the shoulders/pockets/bottom of the jacket are great - it reminds me of of the shading tool on the painter program (the classic staple of a windows PC). Sorry that was a bit too geeky.
Great Look and Color!!!
lovely!!!

An all peach ensemble…i can confidently say that I never would have though of that one. Wish i was as ‘fashionably brave’ as you. And i love the picture from INDUSTRIE, again, I would never have thought of that. It’s great to meet to original kinda things in one post. Hoorah! 🙂

i’ve always stood back from peach convinced it doesnt suit any skin tone, but this outfit has proved me wrong and kinda made me like peach again!
that, and made me crave Morelli’s like mad!i first ever job was in one of their icrcream stores back in N.I. and if theres one thing i miss about home its decent icecream that doesnt come from a tub in a supermarket!
Aww, this is super sweet! In a good, slightly hurts your teeth kind of a way.
This is the most peach that I have ever seen in an outfit before, and I like it!
Love all the peach. Great outfit.
The Heartbreak
What a gorgeous color! Reminds me of the shade Emma Stone wore to the Globes.
You look very lady-like, but in a cool way! That photo of the four-legged Kirkwood Creature is rather disturbing…
This is one of the amazing color contras dress and cool collections of stuff
