>> How many more puns can I pull with Heaven Tanudiredja's name? I'll try and milk a few more. For A/W 11-12, Heaven pulls his head out of the clouds (geddit geddit…) and instead of looking at lofty references that one has to Google about (let's not pretend journos don't do that when they read baffling press releases), he looks to his DVD collection. Heaven gets through about six DVDs a day he says (with a few illegal downloads squashed inbetween…)… everything from Eyes Wide Shut to Alien to Finding Nemo inspires a piece in this collection. I guess at the end of the day, Heaven's way with metal wielding and gem stones needn't any references or inspiration to back it up given that in stores, all you're going to be attracted to is the glint of a stone and the way it has been placed in these extraordinary necklaces. There's always something quite other worldly about the way Heaven's gems come together in a piece. There were a few sci-fi flicks thrown into the film inspiration mix but for me, his work always, in my head, comes with special lighting effects and spacey soundtracks. Superman and his Kryptonite. A Jedi Knight and his light saber. The Roswell kids and their Granilith. Err…Sailor Moon and her Pink Moon Crystal. Alright, the references descend quite a bit once I start thinking about the way these gems seem to sparkle…
I do love the less sparkly elements though such as these jet black rings that really should be called finger protectors given that they're so large…
In a bit to make his product slightly more accessible, he's also done these necklaces, which have the essence of Heaven locked into a neat, rectangular pendant.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, me like it!!!

I love the first red necklace – the detail is so amazingly intricate and I think you gave a very amiable pun there!
My first thought: bizarre! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like these pieces. That first red neckpiece (I think?) is so intimidating! That’d overtake everything else in an outfit for sure.

This is some of the ugliest jewellery I have ever seen!
hey susie nice find. I often am not appreciating swarovski crystal/beaded embellishment as I think it can look a bit tacky prom dress but i really think Tanudiredja’s onto something good. It seems to be the way he contrasts the metal surrounds with the beading and is that fly screen mesh?? not too bad at all.
xx
winnsome
Wow… so beautiful and I really want them, how can I get them?

omg,amazing and beautiful
I had to laugh at the Roswell reference- I guiltily LOVED that show to pieces as a teenager, but the Granilith/Granolith had to be one of the silliest special effects ever, in flight.
I LOVE the look of the pieces, you’re spot-on in evoking space (that neckpiece in the fourth pic looks like it’d do well on a Cylon).
Amazing ring!!

An sich ist das eine positive Sache, ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob dies auch ständig machbar sein wird!
