United Bamboozled

>> Did I not say in my last post that I knowingly turn into a pathetic sodden potato in the rain because I catch myself out deliberately by not bringing an umbrella (I'm telling you, ten-plus lost umbrella track record here…).  Lo and behold, we emerge from lunch (I heart you, oh juicy pork and foie gras burger at Opera Tavern…) and it's tipping it down.

What I did have however was this beautiful Elke Kramer "I'll be your mirror" autumnal printed scarf which is made of a sturdy wool and silk blend and is a roomy 110cm x 110cm, that makes it just about adequate for draping over myself and Steve and escaping the rain…

I also had the pitch-perfect timing to skip out in this United Bamboo dress, thinking "Ah… all this delicately printed silk gazar will airily stand away from my body in this hot'n'sticky weather…"  This spell of 'hot' weather came to an end and instead today, the print that vaguely depicts an Egyptian scene has been enhanced with rain drops.  I first saw the dress in Singapore's Front Row store but it was in Isetan in Tokyo where the price was *ahem* far more favourable, that I became officially United Bamboozled.  Also note that their official blog is called Bamboozing.  It can only mean fun and games when words like bamboozled, bamboozing or indeed booze… are conjured up from a brand's name.

With something new, goes something old and these charity shop faux snakeskin pumps have had their final hour.  I only held onto them because I liked referring to them as my 'celadon' shoes.  Not plain pale green.  CELADON.

Lesson of all of this superfluous chat?  Must try harder to be weather-appropriate…

hmm, maybe a bra wld be good?

  3. Wow – the Elke Kramer scarf is fantastic! I’m definitely going to have to have a look on that site now…

  4. Love the silk dress, it’s so pretty! And it goes so well with your celadon flats, had I been in your place, I wouldn’t be able to get rid of those shoes myself, such a lovely colour.

  5. Yup, nipple-gate it is…
It grieves me to say so in comments but actually *cowers in shame* I hardly wear bras in the summer… they are super uncomfortable… I sort of have NOTHING to support and I’m not all that bothered where these fried eggs head, when I’m old and hoary… there you go… secret’s out!

  6. I really hate umbrellas – they are huge and uncomfortable to use. This kind of waterproof scarf is exactly what I need in my purse. Great innovation!
