>> I've forgotten the number of times I've had to spell out "Sou Brette", whenever I've worn a piece of this Jakarta-based jewellery label but it has definitely been numerous. Jewellery designer Muqliza Imroni and her label Sou Brette has been weighing heavy around my collar and my wrist for a few years now, beginning with her Runic collection and then moving on to her Unknown Waters collection, both of which centred around Muqliza's obsession with all things resin. Finally, she has dropped a new collection (don't you love how jewellery designers can operate out of seasons and surprise you with a collection out of the blue?) and once again, she has dropped all kinds of sparkly things into marble-esque resin to create these noticeably ladylike pieces. Mid-20th-century obsessions stemming from the likes of Mad Men hasn't failed to touch Imroni but she takes the period's architecture, furniture and interiors and applies it to pieces which retain Sou Brette's preference of chunky shapes which pack a visual punch. It's got to be said that the lookboko's leafy green and bubblegum pink wallpaper gets a big thumbs up from me as a backdrop to these chunky jewels, highlighting the flecks of green and yellow, which shine through the resins. I'll be shooting an email off to Imroni to a) thank her for letting me know that with this "Requiescence" collection, she's very much alive and well and b) where did she get that wallpaper from.
Requiescence
I’m also very much inspired by the model’s simple hair and lips. Normally I don’t relish the “vintage” look (ONLY in terms of beauty, not fashion) but here it is just lovely.
I agree with you. The hair and makeup really compliment the aesthetic of the jewelry.
such unique pieces!

I love the originality of the pieces because they don’t look like why we’re used to. It’s like tribal jewelry.

She is isn’t she?!? I keep scrolling up and down on this post just because her face is quite mesmerising…. and she’s not got a typical “haughty model” look either. There’s something quite soft and lovely about her face.
Ok, girl crush moment over.
I do prefer Sou’s unknown waters collection, though I’m glad she surprised us with this collection. š
