>> Applause for Anya Hindmarch and CHAOS Fashion please. They got me doing the same clappy gaspy thing, that I do when I see a stonkingly good collection, over a handbag – something which almost never happens because of my longstanding indifference to bags in general. How so? They slapped some stickers on a bag and sent me back to my eight year old self, sorting out my puffies, glitteries, gellies, flaties and felties by theme and colour into my sticker albums. I know, I know, I’ve talked about sticker nostalgia before. Remember my sister Louisa’s DIY sticker covered clutch? It’s very possible that someone from team Hindmarch or super stylists Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall of fashion consultancy CHAOS Fashion had seen it but of course, in collaboration with each other, they have taken it a step further. For Anya Hindmarch’s S/S 15 “Fixation” collection, they’ve rendered the alphabet, slogans and other emoji-worthy symbols into perfectly puffed-up stickers made out of plush leather in a well-judged colour palette. They come with a specially formulated adhesive at the back so that they can be stuck on surfaces, namely leather, permanently. They’re stickers not to be stuck around randomly – especially at £35-£55 a pop. There lies the clever clever thing about the Anya Hindmarch Sticker Shop. It’s a cute and accessible way into a high end accessories brand that also taps into the idea of customisation and the desire for individually personalised products. Whilst not “cheap”, a few leather stickers is still a fraction of the price of a regular Anya Hindmarch bag. For those that can afford it, the collection is full of bags that come “pre-stickered” as it were. But there’s bags more fun (yup, I know…) to be had in the Sticker Shop. Most of the stickers are already available from Selfridges and will be on sale on the Anya Hindmarch site and their stores from tomorrow onwards. My personal faves include the weather symbols, the egg and the “Ouch” plaster. You get the feeling that this sticky collaboration could go on and on should Anya Hindmarch and CHAOS Fashion want it to. The could leather sticker up the entire emoji lexicon so that people can buy into the world of Anya without feeling like they’re branding themselves, because they can do exactly what they want with their stickers.
So excited was I about these leather stickers (leatheries?), I made a little video soundtracked to the beginning of Velvet Underground’s I’m Sticking With You. Love a rainy day Sunday spent doing amateur stop motioning…

Would love to have one of those bags!

Another excellent post but I do not understand the enthusiasm for a novel and expensive way to to ruin a perfectly good bag. Surely, some of the examples shown are stickered to the extremes!
