Finally…they get an airing!

I got these Prada stockings what seems like a lo-ong time ago.  Truth is, what with the freak heat wave that sent temperatures soaring into the high 30’s celcius, they seldom came out of the box and sat in my sock drawer looking very lonely and relegated.  During the whole summer, I got to wear them maybe about 5 times!  Plus, they’re a bit of a bitch to wash as well.  I bought them thinking, I could take them into fall and sure enough, here I am coming up with outfits to wear them with since the weather is a lot cooler and somehow, it makes more sense to me to wear knee-high socks in autumn (not sure what Miss Miuccia Prada was thinking sending them down the runway with long-sleeved shirt dresses…!).  These would work with a whole variety of different hoisery as well, which Sock Dreams has a huge choice of.  In fact, it’s not too late to jump on the slouchy stocking bandwagon since Sock Dreams have a much cheaper version of the Prada ones as Style Bytes pointed out.

  1. I just started reading your blog today. (I saw it in Teen Vogue’s September issue)Anyway, I think that you can really pull off those Prada stockings. Most girls I know can’t. Very cute outfits. I look forward to reading your blog more often πŸ™‚

  2. it’s so funny that the first time i come on your site i read about THE prada stockings!
i was so obsessed with those fall 05/06(or was it resort 06?) and i found really cheap over the knee cable knit socks that look exactly like the ad about 6 months ago and we’ve had this heat wave in Cali so they’re still in the drawer…
but i live in San francisco so our summer is always cold enough to wear light stockings under everything….
anyway, i heart this site. πŸ™‚

  3. I don’t know what to say, this post makes me smile inwardly!
You always look so fun, your outfits are so playful, never like you’re taking yourself too seriously, which I feel like a lot of us do.
I especially enjoy the two “blue” outfits, they bring to mind Alice in wonderland and Heidi.

Fabulously creative as always!! You really put the fun back into fashion πŸ™‚
I posted a question about where to buy Biba dresses/blouses in Europe or in the US but maybe itΒ΄s easier to post it here!! I am not sure where you read the comments!! LOL!
Keep up the great work! Hope you had a blasting start to the week! Well, Mondays can be a bit tough sometimes πŸ™‚

  10. ^Actually the Biba collection is not in stores yet. It will officially launch when it shows it’s collection at London Fashion Week in September. I think Harvey NIchols and Selfridges and a couple of other boutiques will be stockng it in London but I have no idea whether they’ll stock it outside the UK.
    I did read your comment!

  11. Long time reader – first comment! You have a wicked blog, it’s very creative and the obvious effort you put in makes it a joy to read. I especially love entries like this, think it’s great that you wear the trends but with your own funky style, you really make them you work. Basically you rule. :o)
