…2008 is the year of the site heave-ho aka makeover…Style.com, WWD, Vogue.co.uk and my workplace are all at it. Vintage clothing sites however getting contemporary and slick are few and far between. I suppose for some, they needn’t be all shiny and spanking new as there will always be a customer. But hey, times are hard, recession and all of that, luring peeps to go click-happy isn’t just about having fine wares. Sophia from Nasty Gal Vintage knows it. Dree from The Urban Collection also knows this, so she enlisted the help of none other than Kingdom of Style’s Queen Michelle (going freelance seems to be working out for her which is wicked because frankly, what job is stable these days….?) to give The Urb’s website a MAJOR-heave-ho and something slick and shiny has emerged…
Because I am one of those 21st century young flighty things who prefers their shopping browsing simple, pared back but not without character, the makeover is a welcome one and frankly, gives Dree’s clothes a cleaner slate to show them off to their full potential.
I had been wondering where my beloved Urb had gotten to as I clicked around previously only to find a sad ‘Cannot find page’ sign so I did go a bit mental when it had come back online with a brand new spanking look. I bought this Lanvin black jacket that is ruffled and quilted in all the right ways…
Then sticking to black (and Dree seems to have plenty of interesting black going on for their new fall ’08 additions…), I got a Tadashi jumpsuit that ticks my prerequisites for sheer panels, slightly hippy trouser shape (the bod can’t quite deal with skintight catsuit affairs…) and that odd kind of sexiness that I’m falling for pretty hard…

2008-08-19 at 12:31 AMthanks for this post!
amazingly, I didn’t know about these sellers, and their look is VERY MUCH similar to what I plan to do with my little ebay shop!
I started not long ago, but hopefully soon there will be a major revamp, and I’ll be able to bring everyone great vintage pieces at great prices!
check it out when you have sometime: http://www.majortomvintage.com
cheers!
