Let’s Shoe Shoo Shoo Together

>> I had to post these Loeffler Randall x Suno shoes once again just to start off this post of NYFW shoe collaborations that have been making my heart go ba-boom-ba-boom.  I still haven't decided on which print will be gracing my feet complete with a HUUUUUUGE chunk of wedge that looks like it could also be a good doorstop…

…however, I'm now a-prints-a-plenty in the shoe department when I went to the Chris Benz presentation and saw these offerings, a collaboration with Alejandro Ingelmo.  There's sort of Erdem x Nicholas Kirkwood vibe going on here that's aided of course by the vibrant floral prints but Ingelmo's rounded wedge shape cutesifies the overall look because the toe is so round and the platform, so hidden and high.  Purists will love the nude and black woven offerings but print-lovers will have to choose between some choice florals… oh and there happens to be a pair of blue floral trews that match the blue wedges if that helps/hinders things (more about the presentation later…

Due to a scheduling mishap I didn't make it to Julian Louie's presentation but a reader did point out the Aldo x Julian Louie shoe collab and fortunately I ran into some peeps from Aldo yesterday at the Rad by Rad Hourani show (they also did his shoes too… black slitty leather with a square heel… will definitely sell out in a flash…), who I had met in Montreal where they are based.  There are seven styles altogether for Julian Louie's collaboration and they will all be going into production so it will make for an affordable shoe collab option considering that Julian Louie is a relatively young designer.  Again, it's a tricky picky question with which Ikat weave combo to go for…

  3. Hiya! Waowww the shoes are absolutely amazing! I’m a sucker for wedges and the ikat weave combo shoes are something else. I’m from Indonesia and I’ve seen ikat weaves being made into sooo many things including shoes *and to be quite honest I’m not a big fan of ikat weaves to wear* but the ones here are on a whole new level, and now I want to wear ikat weaves! haha. It’s great too see it being used like this. Thanx for sharing the pics!!!

p.s., while you’re in NYC, if you haven’t already got a pair of the isabel toledo x payless high ghillies, you should def scoop a pair. they are very ‘susie’ and offer all sorts of possibilities for pairing with crazy socks;-)

  9. I love how how orthopedic the nude knee socks are! I’m going to start rocking those. And these wedges are to die for.

  11. Who knew such a small, stinky body part could get so much attention. Once I start dressing the rest of my body in style, I will focus on my feet!
