I should have gone and inspected these in person at the press day to certify that there's no metal-to-skin contact but I'll just have to make that assumption.  I've never paid much attention to Atelier Swarovski given that I've never seen their pieces in stores.  Obviously it's hard to escape the world of Swarovski seeing as they're bent on getting involved with the cream of the fashion crop, new and established as well as sponsoring competitions like Hyeres now.

Giles Deacon's jewellery designs for Atelier Swarovski though have caught my eye namely because he's combined felt and Swarovski that reminds me of the Julian Louie presentation for A/W09 that I saw in New York where he encrusted felt and tailored the material into constricting jackets and dresses.  That Deacon has chosen to use 5mm felt also gives me hope that my skin won't flare up into red pussing welts given my allergy to metal elements.  Instead, the hardware of Swarovski Elements, safety pins an studs decorate the outside of the cuffs and necklaces using the felt as a sturdy base.  Now, I just need to know whether this stuff is actually for sale or just a phantom of an image purely for show on their flash-ridden website.

Wow. I love the cuffs. The mix of jewels and studs on felt is perfect.
Looks like the studs are screw-back so you may have to suffer some inflamed wrists for fashion.

I always thought Swarovski only made weird crystal ornaments…oops. The Giles Deacon stuff is a nice surprise. I like the contrast of soft felt and sharp studs on the first cuff.

The third one is probably my favorite. The contrast between the felt and studs creates such an interesting finished product. Go Giles!
