After much confusion and wrangling with GoDaddy.com…I have sorted out a domain.  Alas, it’s not a .com, as some cheeky sod has gone and bought it and is demanding ¬£2,000,000 for me to buy it back.  Eff off…as if I have that kind of money.  So, I’ve got a .co.uk instead… oh well, just in case people didn’t know this was a British style blog.  So, the new address is http://stylebubble.co.uk

You can use it without the www. if you so wish and of course the old address will still work too.

Guess it makes for easier rembering at a soiree when someone blinks and blinks again, asking ‘What exactly is a fashion blog?’ and I then I get flustered and red-faced and have to awkwardly explain myself.  At least I can sound a tad more official with a .co.uk…

I forget the term for camping on a site address to capitalize on interest but it’s definitely a sleazy practice.

Whoa! Can they do that? That sounds like… You should talk to a lawyer about that domain name crap – that’s your brand!

The US has anticybersquating laws. You might want to look into whether the Uk has them too. If you show there “bad faith” and a few other elements you might be able to get the .com site without paying that douche more money. However, you may end up paying a lawyer which is equally frustrating.
Sorry, I go to law school. This kind of stuff makes me happy. Law suits and shoes = happiness.

  21. ¬£2,000,000 is a lot but if you registor the “stylebubble” as a trademark “”$500″” then they cant use it.

That is crazy stupid that they want to sell you the domain for that much. They probably did it on purpose. Biatches. 🙂
